MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – Belarusian swimmers Pavel Sankovich, Ilya Shimanovich, Evgeny Tsurkin and Anton Latkin claimed bronze at the 4x50m mixed medley relay at the 2017 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, BelTA has learned.
Russia’ Kliment Kolesnikov, Kirill Prigoda, Alexander Popkov, and Vladimir Morozov touched in first in 1:30.44 seconds. Second came in Italy in 1:31.91. The Belarusian quarter clocked 1:32.06.
On the final day of the competitions Pavel Sankovich placed fourth in the men’s 50m backstroke (23.13 seconds).
The Belarusian national team claimed two medals in Copenhagen. On 14 December the quartet of Pavel Sankovich, Ilya Shimanovich, Anastasia Shkurdai and Yulia Khitraya took silver. Russia topped the medal table with eight gold, four silver and four bronze medals.
