MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – A camera to observe animals and birds has been installed in Belovezhskaya Pushcha and will be live streaming all winter long, BelTA learned from the public association APB BirdLife Belarus.
“For the fourth consecutive year, the birdwatch.by [Birds Everyday] website offers a unique opportunity to observe wildlife from your cozy home thanks to a round-the-clock live stream. This year, the stream will show not only birds, but also animals in the vicinity of the small village of Uglyany in Belovezhskaya Pushcha. The camera has been installed in the place where animals pass between a small lowland bog and a forest. The place is also popular with flocks of passerine birds,” APB BirdLife Belarus said.
During the first day of streaming, the bird feeder camera caught great tits, Eurasian blue tits, and Eurasian jays. Other visitors to the feeder included a common buzzard, a raven, a Eurasian magpie, and a common blackbird. The organizers of the live stream expect to see more than 20 bird species during the winter, just like last year. They also hope to catch on camera roe deer, hares, foxes, and, perhaps, other animals.
The live animal and bird cam is streaming on the website birdwatch.by.
