MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) - The national air carrier Belavia will consider the possibility to launch flights from Minsk to Birmingham (the United Kingdom), BelTA learned from the press service of the company.
According to the press service, representatives of Birmingham Airport visited Minsk in March. At the meeting they proposed Belavia to launch flights to this city. “At present our planes make regular flights to London and to Manchester in summer,” the specialists said when asked about Belavia’s destinations in the United Kingdom.
The press release of the press service of the National Airport Minsk reads that the company is doing its best to expand the destination network. Aviation Development Director at Birmingham Airport William Pearson and Managing Director at OKCIS LTD Oksana Mottershead visited the airport. The flights between Minsk and Birmingham will give fantastic benefits for both sides. Birmingham Airport is looking forward to begin work with Belavia and the National Airport Minsk, and to open additional flights between the United Kingdom and Belarus in the future, William Pearson said.
Birmingham Airport is located 10.2km to the southeast of Birmingham city center. It was the sixth busiest airport of Great Britain after Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, Manchester Airport, Stansted Airport and Luton Airport in 2006.l
