MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes won three gold and two bronze medals at the Athens Junior European Cup 2019 which took place on 23-24 March, BelTA has learned.
Gold medals were claimed by Ruslan Golovachov (60kg), Dmitry Muzhaiko (66kg), and Egor Trukhan (73kg).
Bronze medals were clinched by Alexander Sidorik (90kg) and Zhanna Osipovich (70kg).
Belarus placed first in the team standings. Second was Turkey with two gold, three silver and five bronze medals. Third was Kosovo with two gold and one bronze medals.
Competing for medals were more than 360 athletes from 26 countries.
Judo makes part of the 2nd European Games in Minsk. Fifteen medal events will be held at Chizhovka Arena in June 2019.
