MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Salon d’Automne (Autumn Salon) in Taverny, one of the largest art exhibitions in France, has opened in the suburbs of Paris, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.
Taverny is often referred to as the birthplace of impressionism. This year, the Salon d’Automne exhibition marks its 60th anniversary. Belarus partakes in it as a guest of honor. With the support of the Belarusian Embassy in France, the exhibition showcases works by six contemporary Belarusian artists. This year’s edition of the cultural forum has welcomed the biggest number of Belarusian artists in its history.
The opening ceremony was attended by Belarusian artists Vladislav Kufko from Brest and Yuri Nesteruk from Mogilev, among others. The exhibition features works by contemporary Belarusian artists Sergei Belooky, Leonid Rotko and Yuri Khilko.
Salon d’Automne will run till 9 October.
