MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – Belarusian wrestler Alexander Pechurenko claimed bronze at the Cadet World Championships that are taking place in Athens, Greece from 4 to 10 September, BelTA has learned.
On the first day of the competitions the Belarusian collected bronze in the 54kg weight category after defeating Japan’s Sunao Shimaya. Alexander Pechurenko beat Bulgaria’s Tsvetan Sirashki 7-1 before seeing off Asgar Alizada of Azerbaijan 11-2 and losing to Nursultan Bazarbayev of Kazakhstan in the semifinal 1-6.
German Doev of Russia claimed gold defeating Nursultan Bazarbayev of Kazakhstan in the final. The Belarusian shared the third place with Georgia’s Beka Guruli.
