MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – Vadzim Likharad of Belarus (Men 73kg) has won bronze at the 2019 EWF European Weightlifting Championships that is taking place in Batumi, Georgia, BelTA has learned.
Vadzim Likharad scored 153kg in Snatch and 182 kg in Clean & Jerk, with a combined total of 335 kg. Bozhidar Andreev of Bulgaria clinched gold (345kg). Silver went to Briken Calja of Albania (339kg).
So far, Team Belarus has three medals at the 2019 EWF European Weightlifting Championships. Gennady Laptev (Men 61kg) was victorious on the second day of the tournament. A day before that Yuliya Asayonak (Women 45 kg) clinched bronze.
Over 400 athletes from 47 countries are competing for 60 sets of medals at the 2019 EWF European Weightlifting Championships. The tournament will be over on 13 April.
