MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – The 1st Youth IT Forum of Belarus and Uzbekistan will be held in Minsk on 5-9 August, Secretary of the Belarusian BRSM Youth Union Central Committee Aleksandra Goncharova told BelTA.

“The IT is the most promising and fastest growing industry in the world. It tops the ranking of the most popular jobs. The Youth IT Forum of Belarus and Uzbekistan organized by the BRSM is designed to become a platform to discuss modern trends and challenges in IT, jobs and careers in this sector, development prospects for the international youth startup movement and entrepreneurship,” Aleksandra Goncharova noted.

According to her, 30 representatives of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan will come to Minsk to take part in the forum. “The delegation will be led by Kahramon Kuranbaev, First Deputy State Adviser to the Uzbekistan President on Youth, Science, Education, Health, And Sports - Chairman of the Central Council of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan,” Aleksandra Goncharova said.

The forum will be hosted by Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Belarusian National Technical University and its sci-tech park Polytechnic, Minsk City Technopark, the educational center of the Hi-Tech Park, and EPAM Systems. Taking part in the forum will be young people from the two countries engaged in the IT sector.

The program of the youth forum will provide for the exchange of experience and include four sessions featuring leading IT experts, presentations, and cultural events. “We will take our guests from Uzbekistan on a tour of Minsk that will include visits to the Wargaming company, the National Library, and the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History. During the forum, we will also present the projects To the Glory of the Common Victory! and 100 Ideas for Belarus,” Aleksandra Goncharova said.

The BRSM Youth Union and the Youth Union of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of cooperation in December 2018. The unions aim to develop mutually beneficial relations between the youth of the two countries. The first step to implement the roadmap of cooperation was to form a joint Belarus-Uzbekistan student construction brigade consisting of students of Belarusian National Technical University and Tashkent State Technical University. On 24 July, the brigade of 20 students joined Construction Trust No.15 to help renovate roads. The brigade will work in Minsk till 5 August.
