Belarus to take part in SIAM agriculture industry expo in Morocco

MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Belarusian State University (BSU) will showcase about 20 science and technology solutions at the 13th International Agriculture Show SIAM-2018 in Meknes (Morocco) on 24-28 April, the press service of the university told BelTA.

The BSU exposition will include samples, promotional materials, posters and innovation models designed for agriculture. One of the highlights will be the technology of pre-sowing corn seed treatment with the use of the ultrahigh-frequency electromagnetic microwave field. It helps increase the germinating ability of seeds by 15-17% without the application of expensive imported pesticides. The development is unique in the CIS countries.

Another innovation to go on display will be the complex microbial preparation “Zhiten”. It is based on living cells of microorganisms which increase the decomposition of stubble remains. The preparation reduces the infection background of cultivated areas. It helps avoid autumn introduction of make-up dose of mineral nitrogen. As a result, the harvests increase. So is the quality of agricultural products.

The BSU exposition will also include phyto salts for correcting the threshold of taste sensitivity to kitchen salt, the innovations fostering growth of plants, their yielding ability and quality. Among them are biopesticides for complex protection of plants: “Aurin”, “Stimul”, “Stimul” for flax, the complex drug “Volat” for the foliar feeding of fruit and berry plants.

Held since 2006, the International Agriculture Fair SIAM is the largest agriculture fair in the Maghreb region (northwest Africa). It is organized under the patronage of the King of Morocco Mohammed VI and with the support of the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries. In 2017, the event was attended by about 1.3 million participants and more than a million viewers, including specialists in agriculture, food industry, logistics, cattle breeding, mechanical engineering, production, research and environment protection authorized to sign contracts.
