MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ representative will perform in the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, BelTA learned from the website of the contest.
The Semi-Final Allocation Draw for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 took place in Rotterdam on 28 January. The first semifinal on 12 May will feature North Macedonia, Lithuania, Sweden, Slovenia, Australia, Ireland, Russia, Norway, Cyprus, Croatia, Azerbaijan, Malta, Israel, Ukraine, Romania, and Belgium.
The second semifinal on 14 May will feature Austria, Moldova, Poland, San Marino, Serbia, Iceland, the Czech Republic, Greece, Estonia, Denmark, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Finland, Armenia, Latvia, Georgia, Portugal and Albania.
The Host City Insignia Exchange ceremony also took place in Rotterdam’s city hall.
The finalists of Belarus’ national selection for the Eurovision 2020 were named on 27 January. These are Anastasia Glamozda (with the song Burning Again), Dariya Khmelnitskaya (On Fire), AURA (Barani Svayo), VAL (Da Vidna), Angelika Pushnova (True Love), NAPOLI (Don't Let Me Down), Sasha Zaharik (Rocky Road), KC (Chili Pepper), Yan Yarosh (Fire), Anastasia Razvadovskaya (Hello), CHAKRAS (La-ley-la), and Anastasia Malashkevich (Invisible).
The national selection final is due on 28 February. The public will be able to vote alongside the professional jury. The finalist with the largest number of votes will represent the country at the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
