MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – Belarus will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the rebirth of dioceses of the Roman-Catholic Church in April 2016, Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus, Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz told media, BelTA has learned.
“St John Paul II revived the organizations on 13 April 1991. He set up the Minsk-Mogilev Metropole. Then it comprised the Minsk-Mogilev Archidiocese, the Grodno and Pinsk Dioceses,” the metropolitan said.
According to Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz, there are four dioceses and eight bishops in Belarus.
In his words, Grodno Catholics will hold the Eucharistic congress in May 2016.
