MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarus will host more than 70 international sports events in 2017. The country’s sporting calendar 2017 was approved by Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.1044 of 19 December 2016, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.
Thus, the 13th Christmas International Amateur Ice Hockey Tournament for the Prizes of the President of the Republic of Belarus will take place on 1-9 January. Belarus will be hosting the ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating on 10-12 February.
The Legends’ Race festival under the motto Biathlon Stars for Peace will be held in September. Belarus will also host the International Road Race Grand Prix Minsk 2017 will take place on 18-20 May, the European Judo Open M&W on 10-11 June and the IPF World Open, Sub-Junior, Junior & Master Classic Powerlifting Championships on 14-25 June. The FIG Trampoline World Cup is scheduled for 16-20 August. The European Sambo Championship will be held on 18-22 May. The European Modern Pentathlon Championships will be hosted by Belarus on 17-24 July. The 2017 IFMA World Championships are scheduled for 3-12 May. The European U23 Fencing Championships will take place on 21-25 April.
Belarus will also host a number of events preceding the Second European Games 2019, including visits by representatives of international sports organizations, heads of sports federations (unions, associations) of different countries.
