MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – The national contest Book Art 2017 will take place in Belarus on 25-26 January, BelTA learned from the press service of the Information Ministry.

The contest aims to choose the best projects which became a true revelation in the Belarusian book publishing industry, promote the artistic and polygraphist culture of Belarus’ book publishing. It will also help develop book art, popularize the best achievements of the Belarusian book publishing industry in 2016.

Publishers willing to take part in the contest can present the best books of 2015, the applications of their publishing houses and necessary certificates to the Publishing and Trade Department of the Information Ministry till 20 January.

The Information Ministry told about the nominations of the contest. The winner in the Grand Prix Triumph nomination will get the Francysk Skaryna diploma and the Big Golden Folio prize. The winners in the thematic nominations, namely the LIT-Format (fiction), Textbook of the New Century (education materials), Photoview (photo albums and books), Growing Up with Books (books for children and youth), Golden Tablets (information materials and encyclopedias), ART-Book (art books, facsimile and reprinted books), Eureka (scientific literature and science fiction), Spirituality (religious books) will get special diplomas and Small Golden Folio prizes.

The winners in the special nominations will be awarded for their contribution to the preservation of the spiritual heritage, on the occasion of the 500^th anniversary of book printing in Belarus and get special diplomas and Small Golden Folio prizes. Other special nominations include Fellowship (joint publishing projects) and In the Mirror of Time (books published by order).

The jury will also award the best book illustrator, designer, and photographer. They will get special diplomas and the Small Golden Folio prizes.
