MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – The Germany Weeks will be held in Belarus from 24 September to 31 October, BelTA learned from the German Embassy in Minsk.
Over the past 16 years Belarus has played host to the Germany Weeks under the aegis of the German Embassy in Belarus. The German diplomatic mission invites everyone for the festival to get familiar with the German culture, language and society, visit numerous events in 12 Belarusian cities.
The Germany Weeks program will feature a concert at the Belarusian Philharmonic Hall, the screening of the latest short films, documentaries and feature films in German with Russian subtitles. The audience in four cities will be treated to the silent film Faust by Friedrich W. Murnau (1926) with a live music performance from composer Olga Podgaiskaya and Five-Storey Ensemble.
The Germany Weeks will also include readings featuring well-known German writers, exhibitions, workshops and lectures. A variety of events will be offered at the libraries of Baranovichi, Borisov and Molodechno.
The Germany Weeks are held by the German Embassy in cooperation with the Goethe Institute in Minsk, representatives of German cultural organizations, Belarusian institutions and partners.
