MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team goes 87th with 1,282 points in the recently published rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.
Over the past two months Belarus played two matches as part of the UEFA Nations League group stage. Mikhail Markhel’s men first lost to Albania (ranked 66 in the FIFA rankings) 0-2 in Minsk and then edged Kazakhstan (ranked 118) 2-1 in Almaty.
The Belarusian national team will next play Georgia (89th in FIFA) in Tbilisi on 8 October as part of the EURO qualifying campaign. Then, Belarus will take on Lithuania (131st) in Vilnius as part of the UEFA Nations League group stage, and will host Kazakhstan in Minsk on 14 October.
