Belarus President’s Sport Club joins TAFISA

MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) - The Belarus President’s Sport Club was welcomed to the Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA) at the meeting of the General Assembly held as part of the 26th TAFISA World Congress in Tokyo, BelTA learned from the press service of the national state-owned public association.

Prior to the meeting of the TAFISA General Assembly, Chairman of the Central Council of the Belarus President’s Sport Club Dmitry Lukashenko and Deputy Chairman, Executive Director Andrei Karpovich met with TAFISA President Ju Ho Chang and Secretary General of the organization Wolfgang Baumann. The parties discussed cooperation prospects, including the organization of joint events in Belarus, exchange of experience in hosting mass sports competitions, and also Belarus’ participation in TAFISA international projects. The parties reached an agreement on a working visit of the TAFISA leadership to Belarus in the near future to elaborate on issues of bilateral cooperation.

Joining TAFISA will help the Belarus President’s Sport Club to establish cooperation with key international organizations in the field of mass sports, improve the quality of mass competitions in Belarus.

The Belarus President’s Sport Club hosts children's competitions in Belarus' popular sports (Snow Sniper, Leather Ball, Golden Puck, Rapid Ball, Ball over Net, Golden Racket, White Rook and others), supports big sport projects (Minsk Half Marathon, Viva Rovar, VOLATFEST, Baby Cup and others), participates in the development of sport infrastructure and updating of equipment.

The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA) is an organization aimed at promoting physical activity for the sake of health, joy, social interaction, integration and communication among people around the world. Founded in 1991, TAFISA cooperates with the International Olympic Committee and the United Nations Organization. The organization includes more than 300 organizations from 160 countries.
