MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – An information technology company will be set up as part of the Military Academy during a regular draft in November, BelTA learned from Belarusian Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov.
According to the source, the modern army relies heavily on science-intensive technologies, including information technologies. “Belarus’ intellectual potential is huge. It owes a lot to the young people, who work in the IT industry. A new division of the Military Academy – an information technology company – will be set up during a regular draft in one month. It will recruit young Belarusians with university degrees in IT,” said Andrei Ravkov.
Together with other branches of the Military Academy and other scientific and educational institutions the IT company will develop software, including applied software. “Young people, who are eligible for the draft in line with the law, will be able to improve their professional skills in the area of information technologies as much as possible,” said the defense minister.
The Belarusian defense minister met with heads of national mass media at a seminar, which took place in the 51st Guards Artillery Brigade in Osipovichi on 25 October. The seminar focused on the modern state and development prospects of the Belarusian army. Participants of the seminar were made familiar with living conditions of army personnel and meal standards. Participants of the seminar saw samples of weapons and military hardware.
