MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky and Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkevics exchanged views on the development of transport and tourism infrastructure for the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, BelTA learned from the website of the Economy Ministry.
Vladimir Zinovsky and Edgars Rinkevics discussed the joint effort to enable favorable conditions for the development of transport and logistics infrastructure ahead of the upcoming IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship due in Belarus and Latvia in 2021.
The sides reviewed the current state of Belarus-Latvia relations and outlined the key avenues of trade, economic, and investment cooperation. They paid special attention to mutually beneficial effective cooperation in transport and logistics, including that under the Belt and Road initiative.
The ministers touched upon the topical aspects of cooperation within the framework of the EU’s Eastern Partnership program and defined possible matters to be discussed at the forthcoming EaP summit that will take place in Brussels in November.
