MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) - Belarus has buckwheat stocks enough to last for five months, Belarus’ Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Grakun said at a press conference in Minsk on 26 March, BelTA has learned.

“As of today we have enough grain stocks to provide the country with cereals and flour-milling products. In terms of barley, pearled barley and oatmeal cereals, we have surpluses. As for buckwheat, bakery plants have stocks of buckwheat cereals and raw materials for its production for five months. This is enough for us to last until the new harvest. There is no shortage of buckwheat groats in the shops,” Vladimir Grakun said.

In addition to the volumes available at bakery plants, there are 1,300 tonnes of grain in the state reserve. If necessary, they will be used. “This means we are fully stocked with cereals, flour. As for meat and dairy products, we are self-sufficient and have export potential. We will export surpluses,” the deputy minister noted.
