Belarus’ Gerasimov into ATP Challenger Shenzhen II main draw

MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarus’ Egor Gerasimov has reached the ATP Challenger Shenzhen II main draw, defeating Indonesia’s Justin Barki, 7-5, 6-1, in the qualifying, BelTA has learned.

Last week Egor Gerasimov reached the semifinal at the previous event in China’s Shenzhen and rose from the 503rd to the 397th place in the ATP rankings.

In the Jasmin Open round of Last 32 Belarus’ world number 176 Iryna Shymanovich beat Brazil’s world number Laura Pigossi, 6-3, 6-2. In the doubles opener Iryna Shymanovich and Russia’s Alena Fomina-Klotz will face Italy’s Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini.

In the Jiangxi Open first round Belarus’ world number 90 Aliaksandra Sasnovich will face world number 113 Viktoria Hruncakova of Slovakia. In the doubles round of Last 16 Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Russia’s Kamilla Rakhimova will take on Georgia’s Oksana Kalashnikova and Japan’s Nao Hibino. Belarus’ Lidziya Marozava and Poland’s Katarzyna Piter will play Australia’s Kimberly Birrell and Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway.
