MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – The first group of the Belarusian Olympic team has arrived at the Olympic village in Pyeongchang, BelTA learned from the press service of the Sports and Tourism Ministry.
According to chief of the Belarusian Olympic mission, Deputy Sports and Tourism Minister Alexander Baraulya, there were no serious problems on the way to South Korea. “We came to Seoul on a flight from Abu Dhabi and travelled to Pyeongchang by a comfortable bus. Everything is great in the Olympic village,” Alexander Baraulya said.
The Belarusian delegation said that that living conditions are better than they were in Rio. There is no need in arranging anything additionally in rooms. Everything has been prepared in advance. At present it is cold and windy in Pyeongchang. “It is some 8-9 degrees below zero but it feels twice as cold,” he added.
In the near future the Belarusians will be busy with preparing the delegation headquarters and a medical station.
The 23rd Olympic Games in Pyeongchang will take place on 9-25 February. The games will feature 102 events in 15 sports. Belarus will field 28 athletes in six sports.
