Belarus will celebrate the anniversary of the national cinematography with the national festival Kinovek, which will be held across the country. Throughout the year the festival will present 33 best films from the Belarusfilm studio, which tell the story of the national cinematography development. The festival will feature films of different genres - historical and social films, war and adventure films, and also famous children's films The Adventures of Pinocchio, My Name is Harlequino, War Under the Roofs, Nesterka. The festival opened with a screening of the restored silent film Forest Story (1926) directed by Yuri Tarich and based on Mikhas Charot’s The Swineherd.

“Triumph” on the arena of the Belarusian State Circus will feature a real constellation of artists from 19 countries, including Australia, Argentina, Italy, Ethiopia, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Colombia, Israel, Finland, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Portugal, Hungary, DPRK, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia. Minsk audiences will see the spectacular acts by prize-winners and laureates of the 3rd Minsk International Festival of Circus Art, which ended on 22 September with a grand gala concert.

The Cinemascope #shhh project is opening its 2024 fall season. It continues to introduce viewers to the world's best movies. This time, evening screenings will not be held outdoors, but in the cozy Monochrome Space on Oktyabrskaya Street. Visitors will see the gems of the French New Wave – a film movement that rose to popularity in Paris in the late 1950s. The movement sought to allow directors to skip overwrought narrative in favor of improvisational storytelling. The films are shown in the original language with Russian subtitles.

How does the Bolshoi Theater live? What happens on stage in between performances? What secrets are kept on the other side of the curtain? You can find this out if you take an excursion into the backstage of the country's main theater. Guides will tell you about the bustling offstage life of the theater, the intricacies of creating props, costumes and scenery, stage installations, as well as the most interesting pages of the theater's history. On weekdays, visitors can see the fire curtain, watch preparations for evening performances, watch how massive scenery is created and talk to theatrical costume designers.

Yazep Drazdovich is the first Belarusian artist who turned to the theme of space in his art. His interests also lied in literature, history, ethnography, folklore, painting of rugs (malyavanki). He even conducted archaeological excavations! For this incredible versatility, he was dubbed "the Belarusian Leonardo da Vinci". The museum exposition presents painted rugs that had the role of a family amulet, paintings, manuscripts by Yazep Drazdovich, folklore notebooks of the national poet of Belarus Yakub Kolas.

The VIVA KOLA ART 2024 art exhibition-contest seeks to create a portrait of modern sports, find creative visual in the synthesis of art and sports, demonstrate high sports achievements and the cultural potential of the country. This year, the project focuses on ice hockey, biathlon, gymnastics, tennis, cross-country skiing... The exhibition presents works by more than 200 authors in 11 categories - from painting, graphics and design to sculpture, art photography. Visitors will be able not only to enjoy art, but also to purchase works from the collection of the VIVA KOLA ART project of the past season.

The festival of organ music St Sophia’s Bells opens the 29th season in the concert hall of the Polotsk St. Sophia Cathedral. The November playbill includes thematic programs, including "Four Centuries of French Music" performed by the Europa-Center Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Rail Sadykov, "Autumn Fantasy" by soloist Ekaterina Leontyeva (Russia-Germany), "Journey through Europe" together with Kallinika Medvedeva (Belarus) and Alexei Balashov (Russia). The Polotsk festival will wrap up with the concert "Baroque and Romanticism: Musical Dialogues" from organist Ekaterina Nikolaeva.

Modernism will echo in the National Center for Contemporary Arts through the works of Belarusian authors. The project was inspired by the landmark processes in European art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including the new view of the Impressionists on the landscape, the inner world of a person and his fears, the rethinking of the canons of bodily beauty, the avant-garde ideas of Gris, Klee and Kandinsky. Visitors will be taken on an immersive journey into the world of art of the late 19th – early 20th centuries. They will be offered a thematic quest around the exhibition, they will be able to see installations, a special thematic photo zone and information stands with AR technology.

The festival is the calling card of Mogilev Oblast. This year it will bring together more than 130 young talents from four countries: Belarus, Russia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Participants will compete in three age groups and in 9 nominations, including folk and pop songs, folk and modern dance, painting and graphics. Solo performers and groups will introduce the international jury and audience to the culture of their countries. The program includes Friendship Day, the Miss Golden Bee contest, children's art exhibitions and the plein air contest How Beautiful This World Is, Creative Achievements Day, the award ceremony and the gala concert Shining Stars, the youth marathon We Are the Future of the Country...

This will be the 30th edition of Listapad 2024, one of the largest film events in the CIS and the largest in Belarus. Its main theme will revolve around the 100th anniversary of Belarusian cinematography. A record number of applications - over 3,400 from 124 countries - were submitted to the festival. The feature film competition includes 18 films from 17 countries. The international jury will be headed by actor and producer from China Lei Han. Listapad 2024 will open in the Palace of the Republic with the Belarus-Russia film Black Castle based on the novel by the classic of national literature Vladimir Korotkevich.
In addition to the main competition, the program will include non-fiction, documentary and animation films, the Cinema of the Young competition, a competition of national film schools, as well as a competition of children's and youth films Listapadzik. Viewers will also be offered a large-scale non-competition program and screenings of the festival's award-winning films. Art lovers will see rare and exotic films as part of the Days of National Cinema: the program includes films from India, Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe and the Sakha Republic (Russia).
Among the most anticipated films will the film by Indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia All We Imagine as Light that won the Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, as well as the new film by Russian director of Georgian origin Bakur Bakuradze Snowflakes in My Yard that won the prize at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

Igor Moiseyev Ballet is a national brand with an 87-year history, the world's first professional folk dance ensemble. The dance company has been recognized and presented with numerous awards, including the academic ensemble title and the UNESCO Five Continents Medal. Its draw in a combination of classical ballet and folklore in a unique genre of folk and stage dance. Since its foundation in 1937 and to this day, the dance company has been representing the art of Russia, creating a portrait of the peoples through dance. Its repertoire includes choreographic and one-act ballets that reveal the depth and beauty of folk traditions. The palette also comprises famous Belarusian dances, including Kryzhachok, Bulba, and Yurachka.

Dumplings with Souls is a culinary brand of Vitebsk Oblast. It is a traditional dish of the inhabitants of the entire western territory from Braslav District to Sharkovshchina District. In 2017 it was made an element of intangible cultural heritage and included in the list of historical and cultural values of Belarus. Dumplings were prepared as a ritual dish on Dzyady - the Day of Remembering the Dead. Dumplings are usually served at a funeral reception. Over time, dumplings became a part of the dinner cooked on weekdays and weekends when the whole family gathered around the table.

The Neoclassics in the Planetarium concert will be held as part of the Music and Stars educational project. The romantic music performed by the famous Belarusian pianist and composer Filipp Shpartov together with the cosmic atmosphere will leave the listeners unforgettable impressions. The works of the greatest composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, such as Philip Glass, who is named “the voice of Planet Earth”, Hans Zimmer, Ludovico Einaudi and others, will be performed in the Minsk Planetarium.

Maimuna is known for her performance with singer Uzari at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Formerly, she served as the first violinist of the Presidential Orchestra of Belarus. Maimuna is a true master of the instrument: she managed to play “Flight of the Bumblebee” in 54 seconds, breaking the world record of German violinist David Garrett. A new page in her creative biography started with the cooperation with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Television and Radio Company of Belarus. The program of the concert features folklore works, for example, the English folk song Greensleeves, already recognized as classic works by Saint-Saëns, Khachaturian, Brahms, Monty, and also music from the famous films, such as The Mask of Zorro, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moulin Rouge, Pulp Fiction, Game of Thrones and others.

The 30th edition of the PRODEXPO exhibition will bring together over 50 Belarusian enterprises, including flagships of the country’s food industry. A large-scale block will be dedicated to products from Russia (at least 10 regions). The program includes B2B negotiations of retail and food participants with representatives of commercial services of foreign retail chains, educational seminars and master classes. The exhibition will also feature the national review of the quality of bakery and confectionery products Smakota 2024, the confectionery skill competition Cosmic Belarus, an international championship of confectionery art, the International Culinary Cup 2024, the international competition for the best packaging SmakArt 2024, and a national honey contest.

People’s Artist of Russia Dmitry Pevtsov is known to the general public as a theater actor and a movie actor. As part of a new singing project he will reveal himself as a bright professional pop singer with a timbre-rich voice, a reverent attitude to the material he presents, charismatic presentation, and convincing stage plasticity. The music band Pevtsov’s Orchestra, which is about ten years old, is based on a rock band supplemented with symphonic, jazz and folk instruments. The orchestraserves a seemingly incredible task: to recreate the sound of legendary and nationally beloved works by outstanding Soviet composers and poets. The program will feature more than 20 compositions: “I asked the ash tree...”, “Airborne battalion”, “Romance of naval officers”, “The city that doesn't exist”, “Smuglyanka”…

Alla Dukhova’s famous dance theater will present a new performance, inviting the audience to dive into the world of true masterpieces of world art. Works by great artists come to life right before the eyes of the audience with the help of dancing. At the same time, the show presents a whole variety of genres: from classic ballet, which amazes with its plasticity, to rumba, cheerful cancan and Russian round dances. The show will feature more than twenty numbers: tender and passionate ones, mischievous and ironic ones, honed to the smallest detail. According to the choreographer, everyone will see stories of personal interest.

The interactive project Live Music in Cinema performed by soloists of the State Chamber Orchestra under the direction of the chief conductor Yevgeny Bushkov will present the romantic silent comedy “7 Chances” (1925) from the filmography of one of the greatest comedians of the first half of the twentieth century, Buster Keaton. According to the plot, Jimmy Shannon (Buster Keaton) learns that he will receive an impressive inheritance from his grandfather, but to get it, he must fulfill one condition: get married at seven o’clock this evening… Music for the film was written by the composer Stephen Prutsman, who “voiced” Buster Keaton’sworks “Sherlock Jr.” (1924) and “College” (1927).
