MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – The official Belarusian delegation consisting of representatives of Belteleradiocompany, ALEKSEEV and his creative team will leave for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 due in Lisbon on 28 April, the press service of Belteleradiocompany told BelTA.
Portugal will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 on 8-12 May. Belarus will take part in Europe’s most popular song contest for the 15th time.
ALEKSEEV, Belarus' official entrant, will perform eighth in the first Semi-Final on 8 May.
Like all the participants, ALEKSEEV who will perform the song "Forever" will have several individual rehearsals in Lisbon, the first one scheduled for 29 April. The second rehearsal is planned for 3 May. Individual press conferences of Belarus’ representative are scheduled for the same days.
The Euroweek will open at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) in Belem (a region of Lisbon) on the bank of the Tagus River on 6 May. This year the red carpet of the contest will be replaced with the blue one in order to match the topic and the slogan “All Aboard!” The first Semi-Final will be held on 8 May.
Some 2,000 of journalists from Portugal and around the world are expected to cover the Eurovision this year. Press conferences with representatives of the 43 participating countries will be organized for them from 29 April to 6 May. About 30,000 foreign tourists will visit the contest in Lisbon. About 700 people, 400 of which are volunteers, are involved in the song forum. More than 200 million viewers from Europe and around the world are expected to watch the contest.
The TV channel Belarus 1 and the international satellite TV channel Belarus 24, as well as Belteleradiocompany’s official website tvr.by, will traditionally broadcast the two Semi-Finals and the Grand Final live.
