MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian Cultural Center in France has been presented in Paris, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in France.
The Belarusian Cultural Center in France was founded on 7 January 2015 as an association to unite Belarusians that live in France. The center is also aimed at assisting the expansion of the Belarusian-French cooperation in culture, education and other humanitarian sectors, development of contacts between the two countries in the tourism sector.
The first event of the cultural center, an evening dedicated to St Euphrosyne of Polotsk, took place on 20 February. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko congratulated the center on the start of its operation. He wished the organization every success in its activity on the presentation of the Belarusian culture, traditions, spiritual and cultural heritage of Belarus on the territory of France, development of the Belarusian-French cultural and humanitarian ties.
The program of the event included the screening of a documentary about St Euphrosyne of Polotsk and an exposition of the monuments of the ancient Belarusian Polotsk. The visitors of the center were also shown Belarusian publications on the life of Euphrosyne of Polotsk and the development of Polotsk.
