Belarus-China cooperation in healthcare described as promising

MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) – An important part of Belarusian-Chinese humanitarian cooperation is interaction in healthcare, Belarus’ First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich told BelTA.

"Healthcare cooperation with China has a great future. It is possible that Chinese traditional medicine will soon become widespread in our country," he said.

Belarus established a center of traditional Chinese medicine in each regional center. Such centers also operate in two medical institutions of Minsk (City Clinical Hospital No.10 and the Republican Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Balneotherapy), and in the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone. Moreover, the Chinese enterprise Sinopharm launched the center of traditional Chinese medicine in the industrial park on 21 August 2024.

Within the framework of the visit of Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang to Belarus in 2024, Belarus' Healthcare Ministry and China's National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine signed an agreement on cooperation to develop the center of traditional Chinese medicine in Belarus.
