MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus has made it to the top three opera theaters in the CIS, BelTA learned from the analytics agency TurStat.
The State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia in Moscow topped the ranking. Belarus’ Bolshoi Theater in Minsk placed second, and the Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Abay in Almaty rounded out the top three. The top five also featured the State Opera and Ballet Theatre “Astana Opera” in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan and the Akhundov Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Baku.
The ranking also included the Armenian National Opera and Ballet Academic Theatre named after A. Spendiaryan in Yerevan, the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi in Tashkent, the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Moldova “Maria Biesu” in Kishinev, the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abdylas Maldybaev in Bishkek, and the Tajik State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Sadriddin Ayni in Dushanbe.
The ranking was based on the analysis of popularity and online streams on offer in theaters.
