MINSK, 23 August (BelTA) – Maria Pervyi will represent Belarus at the Miss International 2019 beauty pageant. Maria made it to the TOP 10 and got the Audience Choice Award of the Miss Belarus 2018 contest. Earlier, she was the 2-nd Runner-up at the Miss Bobruisk 2016 pageant, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Beauty School.
The Bobruisk-born beauty studies at Gorky Agricultural Academy and runs a car rental business. She has plenty of international catwalk experience.
Maria Pervyi is convinced that beauty is about general human values and she wants to be a role model for the younger generation. A daughter of an Orthodox priest, she helped build a church and supports the poor and the homeless together with her family. At the Miss Belarus 2018 Maria Pervyi made friends with Maria Vasilevich (the winner of the pageant) and supported her fellow contestant every possible way at the Miss World pageant.
Miss International is one of TOP 5 international beauty pageants in terms of prestige and scale. The jury assesses not only contestants’ looks but also their willingness to address global and local issues. About 70 states take part in the contest annually.
This year the pageant will be held in Tokyo on 12 November. The preparations have already started. The National Beauty School will help Maria Pervyi hone her skills in makeup, hairdressing, psychology, style and other disciplines. Now the Belarusian team is looking for designers and brands ready to offer outfits for the contest. The contestant will need five evening gowns, three cocktail dresses, a national costume, a swimsuit and an outfit for the final show. As a gift to other participants of the show and the jury, Maria will take local zefir. The girl is supported by the Bobruisk-based Krasny Pischevik confectionery.
According to bookmakers, the Belarusian contestant is expected to make it to TOP 5.
