BREST, 16 October (BelTA) – The theater-studio Parallel from Baranovichi won the Grand Prix of the international festival “Theater. Autumn. Pushkin” which was held in the city of Pushkin, Leningrad Oblast on 11-15 October, BelTA learned from Larisa Sartakova, the head of the team from Baranovichi.
Held for the first time, the forum brought together youth and adult theater groups from Russia, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Israel and Belarus. The theater-studio Parallel was the only representatives of Belarus at the event and showed the performance Frontovichka (The Woman War Vet) based on Anna Baturina’s play.
“During our performance the hall was packed to the rafters. According to the jury composed of theater critics, filmmakers and actors, the decision to award the Grand Prix was unanimous,” Larisa Sartakova noted. This is not the only reward of the Belarusian theater-studio. Actress Olga Skomorokh was awarded a diploma for the best actress in a leading role. The Baranovichi team also received accolades for the musical accompaniment and choreography.
The theater-studio Parallel keeps receiving proposals to participate in other international forums. In January 2018 the team is planning to take part in the theater festival in the German city of Bremen.
