MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – Belarus’ Victoria Azarenka (WTA No.50) is on a winning streak as she has won another victory in the 2019 WTA Mexican Open (total financial commitment of $250,000), BelTA has learned.
Victoria Azarenka and Zheng Saisai of China notched a victory over the British-German duo Johanna Konta/Laura Siegemund 3:6, 6:3, 10:6 in the quarterfinal match of the women’s doubles in Acapulco.
Apart from that, Victoria Azarenka made it to the quarterfinal of the Mexican Open singles as she cruised past Tatjana Maria (WTA No.69) of Germany 6:2, 6:1. She had previously defeated U.S. Danielle Collins (WTA No.25) 6:1, 6:2. In her first quarterfinal showing of the 2019 season, Azarenka will meet 5th-seeded American Sofia Kenin (WTA No.35).
