1st Belarusian Music Seasons in France to kick off 26 May

MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – The 1st Belarusian Music Seasons in France will kick off with a concert of chamber music featuring musicians from Belarus and the Netherlands on 26 May, BelTA learnt from the embassy following the meeting of Belarus’ Ambassador to France, Belarus’ Permanent Representative in UNESCO Pavel Latushko with Head of the French-Belarusian Association Life in Music Georgy Sosnovsky on 24 March.

“The program will be continued on 12-19 October with concerts of young Belarusian musicians in Paris,” representatives of the embassy said. According to them, a decision has already been made to hold the international music forum Belarusian Music Seasons in France. Talented musicians will be invited to take a regular part in the event.

The parties also talked over joint projects of the embassy and the Association in advancing the Belarusian-French cultural cooperation.

The Association Life in Music provides constant support in the organization of Belarusian cultural events in France. A number of cultural events are scheduled in Minsk and Paris to mark the 10th anniversary of the organization.

In April 2016 the National Art Museum of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus will host concerts featuring Belarusian and French musicians. The concerts will be held in cooperation with the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Culture Ministry of Belarus, the Embassy of Belarus in France and the Belarusian State Music Academy.

The embassy said that on 23 March Pavel Latushko met with Euronews Chairman of the Executive Board Michael Peters. “The parties discussed ways to expand cooperation between Belarus and Euronews, in particular, prospects for implementing joint projects with Euronews and possible presentation of Belarus at one of Europe’s leading TV channels,” specialists said.
