Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas took part in the Our Children nationwide charity campaign and visited Minsk Orphanage No.7 to wish children happy holidays.
“At the end of December both adults and children live in anticipation of the holidays. I am happy to be here today. I hope that you have been happy in 2019. If you had any troubles, I wish you to leave them all behind in 2019,” Sergei Rumas said.
He pointed out that similar events are held all over Belarus under the president’s instructions.
Sergei Rumas thanked the staff of the orphanage and wished them happiness and health. “Let your dreams come true!” he said. On behalf of the government the prime minister gave a certificate to buy seven tablets to the orphanage and sweet treats to children. Sergei Rumas attended a concert, drank tea with the children, received handmade presents, and answered the children’s questions.
The orphanage is situated in Oktyabrsky District of Minsk. It takes care of orphans and children deprived of parental care. The orphanage opened in August 2000. It provides comfortable conditions for children who live in seven large flats, ten people in each. The flats are connected by a complex of various facilities that include a library, a gym, a computer class, and so on.
