2019 European Games: Belarusian trampoline gymnasts getting ready for 2nd European Games
5 Mar 2019

Only few months are left before the start of the 2019 European Games. In June, Minsk will welcome more than 4,000 athletes from 50 countries. While the major arenas are getting the finishing touches ahead of the sports forum, Belarusian athletes continue training hard. The host country will do its best to prove its worth not only in the organization of the games but also on the podium. The Belarusian national trampoline team under head coach Olga Vlasova are honing their skills at the Staiki sports center. The team features a lot of outstanding athletes, including the 2016 Rio Olympic champion Uladzislau Hancharou and his spouse Hanna Hancharova (Hanna Harchonak).

Following the triumph of Vitebsk-born Uladzislau Hancharou at the 2016 Olympic Games (he won the only gold for Belarus in Rio), our athletes have repeatedly proved to be strong rivals. At the 2018 Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships in Saint Petersburg Uladzislau Hancharou and Aleh Rabtsau clinched the Synchro gold. The fans’ attention at the forthcoming games will be on the tandem of Uladzislau Hancharou and Hanna Hancharova.

The European Games 2019 are not a qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for trampoline gymnasts. However, medals of such a large-scale sports forum are a great incentive. Taking part in the competitions will be 48 athletes who went through the European championships qualifications.
