The Palace of Rhythmic Gymnastics opened in Pobeditelei Avenue in Minsk on 6 March. Partaking in the ceremony was Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
Together with Olympic champions Alina Kabaeva of Russia and Marina Lobach of Belarus, Chairperson of the Belarusian Gymnastics Association Yelena Skripel and Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets, the head of state cut a symbolic ribbon in the entrance hall of the center and handed over a symbolic key to the members of the Belarusian national rhythmic gymnastics team.
The official opening ceremony was attended by President of the European Gymnastics Union Farid Gayibov, chief coach of the Belarusian national rhythmic gymnastics team Irina Leparskaya, famous Belarusian gymnasts and coaches, young athletes.
