Commemorative meeting to mark the start of the war in the Brest Fortress

After gathering in the Ceremonial Square all the participants proceeded along kind of a road into the past. Starting with the entrance to the memorial the reconstructors recreated episodes of the last peaceful evening of the citadel: artillery emplacements, infantry drills, dances accompanied by a phonograph in the soldiers club, everyday life of the military personnel in the barracks and the mess hall. Pre-war documentaries were demonstrated on large screens.
