The unique exhibition Children of War tells its visitors the life stories of the children of the commanders who defended the main Belarusian stronghold in June 1941. All in all, the Brest region lost more than 228,000 people including almost 45,000 children during the Great Patriotic War. The exposition showcases 117 items that include photos, memoirs, letters, personal effects, and souvenirs that were donated to the museum on different occasions. The highlight of the exhibition is a fragment of the 300-meter-long Canvas of Peace which was made from colored patches of cloth with children’s drawings during a campaign of the same name held in Belarus and Russia in 2007.
