Alexander Lukashenko in the Memorial Church of All Saints

The head of state presented a Nativity icon to the Memorial Church of All Saints. The icon was made in a workshop of St Elizabeth Convent to an ancient technology when crushed gems and stones (pearl, calcite, marble, jasper, azurite, lazurite, malachite and others) are fixed to the surface using special glue.

The icon depicts the cave of Bethlehem. In the center is the Mother of God who is holding little Jesus on her lap. Bowing to them are Saint Joseph and the Angel celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
