MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – The parliament should train only high-level policy makers, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina said in an interview to the Stolichnoye Televideniye TV channel on 12 June, BelTA has learned.
The CEC Chairperson would like to see the prospects in the people that are to be elected to the parliament. “The parliament should train future high-level policy makers,” she said. According to Lidia Yermoshina, the parliament is a so-called school which should be closely integrated with the professional experience received on the official place of business.
“The person should reach the pinnacle in his profession, get an experience to be a university rector, minister, deputy minister, governor and so on,” she continued.
Lidia Yermoshina stressed that an MP should be honest and decent, should know how to assess the appropriateness and consequences of enacting a bill.
