Wang Kaiwen: SCO observers intend to give unbiased assessment of Belarus parliamentary elections

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) - Observers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) intend to provide an unbiased assessment of the parliamentary elections in Belarus, SCO Deputy Secretary General Wang Kaiwen told the media, BelTA has learned.

“Together with Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Rashid Alimov we visited several polling stations. Members of the SCO observation mission work in Minsk and also in the regions,” Wang Kaiwen said. “First impressions are very good. A great deal of preparatory work was done for the organization of elections,” he noted.

In his view, citizens of Belarus are given every opportunity to exercise their suffrage, to cast their vote for the further development of the country, for democracy, for the improvement of living standards in the country.
