MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus has accredited nine observers from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to monitor the elections to the House of Representatives. The relevant information was posted on the website of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
The total number of foreign observers has already exceeded 820. The biggest number of observers has been accredited from the OSCE/ODIHR – 341. The CIS will be represented by 331 observers (including 44 from the CIS IPA). PACE will be represented by 19 and the OSCE PA by 39 observers.
Apart from that, there have been accredited 65 diplomats, three representatives from the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB), 14 – from foreign election bodies.
The elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus will take place on 11 September.
