MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – The core OSCE/ODIHR election observation mission will arrive in Belarus in mid October, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina told the media on 10 October, BelTA has learned.
A meeting in the Central Election Commission has been requested upon the arrival of the core mission on 15 October. “Twelve identity documents have already been prepared for the OSCE/ODIHR mission: four – for the initial team which is currently working on technical matters and eight for a group of experts led by the head of the mission,” the CEC chairperson said.
The Central Election Commission is receiving official documents confirming the sending of missions from counterparts. In particular, the corresponding documents have been sent by the CEC of Georgia.
Elections to the House of Representatives are slated for 17 November, while elections to the Council of the Republic are scheduled for 7 November.
