Early voting turnout at 16.71%

MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) - An estimated 16.71 percent of voters turned out for the first three days of early voting ahead of the 11 September parliamentary elections in Belarus. The relevant information was posted on the website of the Central Election Commission of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

On 6-8 September a total of 14.10 percent of ballots were cast in Brest Oblast, with 18.07%, 19.07% and 16.23% of early votes cast in Vitebsk, Gomel and Grodno Oblasts respectively

A total of 15.71% and 18.76% of eligible voters took advantage of early voting in Minsk and Mogilev Oblasts correspondingly. Turnout in Minsk made up 15.66%.

An estimated 15.46% cast their votes outside Belarus.

A total of 6,990.696 people are eligible to vote at this year’s parliamentary elections in Belarus. The elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus are scheduled for 11 September. Early voting kicked off on 6 September and will last through 10 September inclusively.
