MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has mentioned what officials will keep their positions after the forthcoming elections. The head of state talked about it during the government conference held on 19 September to discuss economy performance so far this year, projections for the end of the year and the five-year term, the draft social and economic development forecast, the draft budget, and the draft main monetary management guidelines for the year 2020, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “I know that many of you and some other officials are concerned about who will keep their jobs after the elections. Let me answer the question publicly: those, who work today and execute forecasts and plans, those, who benefit the country, will naturally keep their jobs. My policy does not include an inner circle or an outer one.”
“There are these Internet rumors about Lukashenko, transit of power, who will get into positions of power… They start talking about my kids one by one. Listen up and forget about the kids. No kids of mine are getting prepped for some transit of power. Only those willing to work will continue working with me. And those, who knows how to listen to me and fulfill my instructions,” the Belarusian leader stated.
“If [Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei] Rumas and [Head of the Belarus President Administration Natalya] Kochanova, deputy prime ministers and ministers can’t hear me, you’d better pack up your things and leave right away,” the Belarusian leader added.
