Andreichenko urges assistance to international observers at upcoming elections

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) - The work of international observers should be organized in such a way so that the international community could make sure that the upcoming parliamentary elections in Belarus are democratic, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at the close of the ninth session of the parliament of the fifth convocation, BelTA has learned.

“The country is entering a very crucial period. Ahead of us is the electoral campaign to Parliament. A large number of international observers will come to the country to monitor the elections. We need to help organize their work in such a way so that the international community could see that elections in Belarus are held in a peaceful, open and democratic way in accordance with national legislation and international standards,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

Andreichenko urges assistance to international observers at upcoming electionsHe also noted that the House of Representatives has invited colleagues from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State, the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, parliamentary assemblies of the OSCE, CSTO, PACE to observe the elections in Belarus.
