Lukashenko wants to see more Chinese technologies in Belarus

MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – The goal of organizing a large influx of Chinese technologies into Belarus should be seen as the core task of the governments of the two countries, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang in Minsk on 22 August, BelTA has learned.

The president noted that China is a recognized leader in the field of innovation. It is China that is implementing technological megaprojects.

"You have created your own global navigation system. You've built the world's largest telescope. You have designed a Chinese orbital station and a wide-body aircraft. China is a leader in the production of batteries, solar panels, high-speed trains, electric vehicles and more," Aleksandr Lukashenko gave several examples.

The head of state noted that Belarus has retained the highest competencies in microelectronics, mechanical engineering, and the space industry since the Soviet times. This year, the first Belarusian cosmonaut was sent to the ISS. Belarus is a nuclear power and has huge scientific and technical capabilities, including the IT.

"I suggest that the goal of organizing a large influx of Chinese technologies into Belarus be seen as the core task of the governments of the two countries for the medium term until 2030," the Belarusian leader said. "We see the development of Belarus in alignment with the concept of China's new quality productive forces based on technology, innovation and high-quality human potential."
