MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) — The presidents of Belarus and Russia, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, continue informal communication on the island of Valaam in Karelia, Russia, BelTA has learned.
The heads of state met on Valaam on 25 July. They had a long one-on-one meeting in the informal setting to discuss the most serious issues. Today the informal communication continued. In the center of attention of the heads of state are the issues of international and regional agenda, Belarusian-Russian cooperation.
Aleksandr Lukashenko arrived in Russia on a working visit on 25 July. From the airport of St. Petersburg, he flew to Valaam by helicopter. When in the Valaam Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior, the heads of state visited the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God in the Smolensk skete and visited the Сhapel of Holy Royal Martyrs of the monastery’s metochion. After that, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin continued one-on-one communicaiton.
