MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is headed to Azerbaijan on a state visit, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
In Baku, the head of state is scheduled to hold official talks with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan. The two leaders will first meet one-on-one and then will be joined by members of the delegations. The presidents are set to consider topical issues of bilateral relations with an emphasis on ways of expanding trade and economic ties in various sectors and developing cooperation in industry and agriculture.
Another topic of the talks will be cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan in international organizations and integration associations. The heads of state are expected to discuss the situation in the region and in the world as a whole. The parties are set to sign a package of bilateral documents following the talks.
It is expected that Aleksandr Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev will visit the Caspian Agro expo in Baku where they will get acquainted with the expositions of Belarus and Azerbaijan, the progress in the joint projects in the agricultural industry.
