Darya Domracheva started the race in the fourth position, 23 seconds behind Sprint winner Laura Dahlmeier of Germany. She closed up the gap as she approached the first prone just to have two penalties and fall back to the 12th position, 1.06 minutes behind. Darya Domracheva cleared the second prone and reduced the gap to 56 seconds. The Belarusian was third when she came to the first standing. Heavy snow made her miss one target. She had another penalty in the second standing but left in the lead as her closest rivals also had problems with the weather.
Kaisa Makarainen of Finland finished second also with four penalties, 6.8 seconds back. Laura Dahlmeier of Germany finished third, with three penalties, 14.9 seconds back.
Domracheva’s teammates finished the race as follows: Irina Krivko – 10th (49.1 seconds back: two penalties), Nadezhda Skardino – 19th (1:55.1 back; 3), Nadezhda Pisareva – 36th (4:35.6; 6), Anastasia Duborezova (disqualified).
In the IBU World Cup overall standings Darya Domracheva is still 2nd with 723 points. Kaisa Makarainen of Finland leads the table with 750 points. Ukraine’s Valentina Semerenko is third with 579 points.
