VITEBSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko bestowed the award upon the winner of the grand prix of the international children music contest Vitebsk 2017 Mariya Magilnaya, BelTA has learned.
Other winners of the international children music contest Vitebsk 2017 were awarded during the gala concert earlier that day. However, the grand prix winner was honored with taking the award from the head of state. Presenting the prize to the gifted singer, Alexander Lukashenko said he hopes that in the future the girl will rise as high as the People’s Artist of Georgia and Russia Tamara Gverdtsiteli, who has been awarded the special prize Through Art to Peace and Understanding this year.
Mariya Magilnaya tried to enter the contest earlier. This year’s was her last attempt since she is 12 years old already. The attempt won her the grand prix and an opportunity to perform on the stage of the Summer Amphitheater during the closing ceremony.
