MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) – Vasilisa Marzalyuk secured Belarus’ 13th medal with the women’s wrestling gold at the European Games in Baku on 16 June, Azerbaijan, BelTA informs.
The Belarusian beat Russia’s Yekaterina Bukina in the 75kg final.
Bronze went to Spain’s Unda Gonzalez and Moldova’s Svetlana Sayenko.
The women’s wrestling event at the European Games brought Belarus one gold and three bronze medals. Apart from Vasilisa Marzalyuk’s gold, Nadezhda Shushko (-53kg category) and Mariya Mamoshuk (63kg) won bronze medals on 16 June. Anastasia Guchok lost her 58kg bronze medal bout. Earlier, wrestler Veronika Ivanova (60kg) added bronze to Belarus’ Euro medal haul.
