MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – Elizaveta Misnikova will represent Belarus at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song Pepelnyi, BelTA reports.
The 14-year old was the first to take to the stage of the national selection final. The winner was determined by a mix of public and jury votes. Elizaveta got 10 points from the public and the same number of points from the professional jury.
The winner got a special award - a themed Eurovision heart made to order by Neman Glassworks. The final show took place at the 600 Meters studio of the Belarusian Television and Radio Company. This time the national selection final featured only girls: Anastasia Zhabko, Maria Zhilina, Ksenia Galetskaya, Monkey Tops group, Sofia Khrolovich, Sofia Rustamova, Zephyr group, Arina Pekhtereva, Maria Ermakova. The final show was broadcast live by the Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 TV channels and the official website of the Belarusian Television and Radio Company.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 will be held in Gliwice, Poland, on 24 November 2019. Belarus has taken part in every edition of the contest since its debut in 2003 and has won the contest twice: in 2005 with Ksenia Sitnik performing the song My Vmeste and again in 2007 with Alexey Zhigalkovich performing the entry S Druziyami. Belarus hosted the show for the second time in 2018 and gathered a record high number of participants in the history of the contest. Performers from 20 countries took to the stage of Minsk Arena in 2018.
